REDMOND, WA – Today, a story broke about a Puyallup female high school wrestler who was assaulted by a male in a match. Rogers High School sophomore Kallie Keeler shared her experience with the unDivided podcast after the school delayed taking meaningful action to protect and investigate her claim of sexual assault.

“How many young women have to be assaulted, violated, bullied, mocked, or even sued before the state takes action to protect them?” said LGW Founder, Brian Heywood in a statement. “While Governor Ferguson and Chris Reykdal pretend that situations like this “aren’t happening” female athletes who are victims of sexual assault are being silenced. Governor Ferguson brags about his support for girls’ sports and his daughter’s participation, but when other girls are impacted, he turns a blind eye and even refuses to hear their stories. Is it asking too much of him to protect girls in their sports?”

Timeline of events:

December 6, 2025 – Kallie wrestles against a 190-pound male who sticks his fingers “up her vagina” – Kallie allows herself to be pinned because of her shock and disgust.

December 8, 2025 – Keeler family emails Rogers High School coach and administration to ask them to deal with the situation.

January 25, 2026 – Kallie reaches out to unDivided podcast after hearing about Emerald Ridge High School girls filing a complaint against two boy wrestlers in the girl’s locker room.

January 29, 2025 – unDivided asks Puyallup School District for comment on the presence of a biological male in the female wrestling division.

January 30, 2025 – Rogers High School reports Kallie’s allegation to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

This series of events suggests that a number of Rogers High School staff and employees knew about Kallie’s allegation of sexual assault and didn’t do anything with it. Under Washington State law, mandatory reporters are required to report allegations of sexual assault within 48 hours.

Brian Heywood issued the following in response to learning about the timeline of events:

“We’re grateful to the unDivided podcast for holding the Puyallup School District accountable and forcing the case to be moved to the Pierce County Sheriff’s office for investigation.

Here are three questions for this state’s leadership:

The initiatives to protect girls’ sports and provide additional resources to parents from schools are needed now more than ever. Boys do not belong in girls’ sports and parents deserve to have more access to what’s going on with their children in schools.
