  • Stop the state from forcing homeowners to spend tens of thousands of dollars to convert their homes to all electric.

This measure would require utilities and local governments to provide natural gas to eligible customers; prevent state approval of rate plans requiring or incentivizing gas service termination, restricting access to gas service, or making it cost-prohibitive; and prohibit the state energy code, localities, and air pollution control agencies from penalizing gas use. It would repeal sections of chapter 351, Laws of 2024, including planning requirements for cost-effective electrification and prohibitions on gas rebates and incentives.

PARENTAL NOTIFICATION

Parents Have The Right To Know

This measure would allow parents and guardians of public-school children to review instructional materials and inspect student records, including health and disciplinary records, upon request. It would require public schools to provide parents and guardians with certain notifications, including about medical services given and when students are taken off campus; access to calendars and certain policies; and written notice and opportunities to opt students out of comprehensive sexual-health education and answering certain surveys or assignments.

  • Parents now have the right to ask school administrators for information pertaining to their students’ education.
  • Schools are legally required to give parents all information about what medical, physical or educational materials are being provided to students.
  • I-2081 makes parents active stakeholders in the lives of their children since they are their greatest advocates.

NO STATE INCOME TAX

Keep Washington Prosperous

This measure would prohibit the state, counties, cities, and other local jurisdictions from imposing or collecting income taxes, defined as having the same meaning as “gross income” in the Internal Revenue Code.

  • State, county and city legislators are not allowed to institute any form of income tax.
  • While our constitution protects the ban on income taxes at a state level, legislators are always working to take more money from Washingtonians.
  • I-2111 reinforces that residents deserve to keep their income and not have it taxed by money-grabbing politicians.

REASONABLE POLICE PURSUIT

No Fake Solutions

This measure would remove certain restrictions on when peace officers may engage in vehicular pursuits. Such pursuits would be allowed when the officer has a reasonable suspicion a person has violated the law, pursuit is necessary to identify or apprehend the person, the person poses a threat to the safety of others, those safety risks are greater than those of the pursuit, and a supervisor authorizes the pursuit.

  • Police officers are allowed to pursue criminals and actively protect citizens.
  • This initiative rolled back some of the most damaging legislation instituted by the majority legislature that ruled that police officers could not chase criminals, thus causing crime to increase and more lives to be lost needlessly.
  • I-2113 is a win for safety across the state.
