AN ACT Relating to improving public safety by focusing firearms restrictions on criminals; and adding a new section to chapter 9.41 RCW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 9.41 RCW to read as follows: The prohibitions, restrictions, limitations, requirements, or conditions on the possession, use, manufacture, distribution, sale, or purchase of firearms described in RCW 9.41.050, 9.41.240, 9.41.250, 9.41.360, 9.41.365, 9.41.— (section 3, chapter 104, Laws of 2022), and 9.41.— (section 4, chapter 104, Laws of 2022), shall apply only and be limited to people, whether referred to as “individual,” “party,” “person,” “respondent,” or any other word, who either are a “felony firearm offender” or have been convicted of a “serious offense” as defined under RCW 9.41.010.
NEW SECTION. Sec. 2. If any provision of this act or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the act or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
